Incesaz are back, ‘come closer and give an ear!'Incesaz, who offered the taste of instrumental Turkish music in their first album, are back with their second album “Songs of September” after 3 years. The group leader Cengiz Onural evaluate their second work as a journey inwards. Incesaz are giving a concert tonight at CRR. (Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall - Istanbul) We have good news for Incesaz funs. They are back to the music market with their second album, as meaningful as the first one, “Songs of September”. They are giving tonight the launching concert of this album in CRR. Going back to their first days, I remember, they were three good fellows to come together and dream about a new and unattempted music. This dream came out true with their first album, “the Aged April”. Since then, they walked a long way, tried many things in their music, scored some TV documentaries and the Turkish televisions' eversuccessful series named “the Second Spring”. In their new album, the novelty is that besides five instrumental pieces, they wrote 8 new songs that are performed by Melihat Gulses, one of the most naive and lovely female voices of today. In my opinion her presence improves the group's productivity and refinement. Like the first album, one can trace the taste of the traditional, although all the compositions are new. Three main themes come forth in the Songs of September: “September”, “ Istanbul ” and “Love”. Onural says that they present whatever they experience in their inwards journey and they do not have any claim like being traditional or modern. He says that they just try to find out the best form that will express whatever they mean. Zaman / Kültür&Sanat, 19 November 2002 , Tuesday, page 17, by Abdullah Kilic. |
