Incesaz starts from the traditional

Incesaz' new album stands close to the classical music in the way they use the classical harmonic modes. They claim to have the culture of the traditional music rather than having some excerpts from it.

Cengiz Onural had been a member of Yeni Türkü for 12 years, up to 1997. We also know him from his film and TV series scores. Murat Aydemir has been the tanbour player of the Istanbul State Turkish Music Choir and Orchestra. Derya Türkan is kemenche player of Turkish State Radio and also a member of Kudsi Erguner Ensemble.

We asked them how they named their composition: “It is a real hard job to name a composition because once you create it, it is there standing alone with its own personality. So we have to ask help from our favorite poets like Edip Cansever, Özdemir Asaf, Can Yücel. For example “Aged April” is named after a poem of Edip Cansever.” By the way Aged April is both the name of the album and the name of one of the pieces on the album.
